Singer 911 – Passion Meets Obsession

If you are into custom Porsches, Singer is a name you know.  If you are new to this arena, Singer is a name you need to know.  If I were to approach my car obsession with the same time, money, and tireless pursuit of perfection, I’d be Singer.  Beyond simply making a car, and much like the top chefs of the world, this is where emotion is engineered.  If you are someone who believes a production car is the end of the story, this is not for you.

1000HP Honda Odyssey Bismoto Minivan, Oh and a Porsche

Yes, you read that right.  Most motorheads have heard tale of some ridiculous build like this but many don’t fully realize how much love a minivan like this can instill until you drive it.  You get to have a street prepped minivan with per-gear boost levels to make it driveable and still haul groceries or your 6 closest friends and kids.  I love weirdness like this because it illustrates how cars can only be ranked along certain metrics if we look at them objectively but cannot be understood subjectively without hands-on experience.  You don’t have to constrain your options if you are willing to take a walk on the wild side and go down the path less traveled.

Audi R8 V10 Plus – Mid Engined and Sonorous

For a street car, it’s hard to argue with the R8 and harder to argue with the sound of a V10 mid-engined supercar for the Volks.  Say what you will about V8’s, the V10’s hold a special place in my heart due to the song it sings.  The second generation 610hp naturally aspirated carbon fiber R8 breaks the 200hp barrier and features Audi’s “Virtual Cockpit” infotainment system to keep your eyes on the critical dash area.  The grip is insane, but the responsiveness to throttle input is finally at the level needed to become one with the car.  For driver’s who want as much feedback as possible, this combination is definitely an experience to covet.

The Reliant Robin – Not Sexy but Funny as Hell

If you are familiar with the Reliant Robin this will be old news.  For newcomers, welcome to the car that doesn’t impress you with performance or a sexy body but wins you over immediately with it’s sense of humor. Honestly if this is the first time you’ve seen this and you don’t laugh out loud, you are missing your funny bone.

Koenigsegg Regera – Engineering the Ultimate Hypercar

It’s still a little early, but I’ve been following Christian Von Koenisegg’s progress on the Regera, Koenisegg’s first hybrid hypercar and listening to Christian speaking about the engineering is nerdgasmically awesome.   I wonder what it would take to get a ride in a Regera?

I’ll post updates when we have more footage of the Regera in action.

Magnus Walker Urban Outlaw – Doing it His Way

If you are into custom Porsches, you have to have heard of Magnus.  He walks to the beat of a different drummer but that drumline is amazing. What I personally love about Walker is that he is doing what the pinnacle of car people do, be themselves.  I think as people get closer to their car passion, the cars become more like them.  Makers make in their image, and Walker is no exception.

If you haven’t seen this piece, take some time as it’s beautiful.

World’s Fastest Lotus – Widebody Twin Charged Goodness

If you love cars like I love cars, this piece is like car nerdvana.  Twin charged custom Lotus running dual fuel? Yes please.  I’m a huge fan of fast cars, but on the road what I love is a QUICK car.  Power-to-weight is always the name of the game and near the top of that list is this beauty.

If you haven’t seen this, you are in for a treat.

EVO Radical RXC Turbo – The Fastest Street Car

It’s easy to think it’s only performance that makes a car great, but often it’s many things working together in unique combinations that make a car special.  The Radical is no doubt an amazing car at the top of the extreme performance range but more than the raw numbers, listen to it.  Turn up your laptop/stereo/headphones and really listen to the sounds this car makes.  I feel like Homer Simpson drooling.
